Betty Jean Belden, 77, of 5456 Ada Drive, Celina, died at 2 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.

She was born on May 19, 1935, in Pennington Gap, Va., to George and Laura (Smith) Thompson, and they preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Delbert (Andrea) Stewart of Pennington Gap, Va.; a daughter, Linda (Mark) Severt of Celina; four grandchildren, Crystal Stewart, Kelly Stewart, Eric Hunley and Mickey Cole; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Thompson of Celina, G.C. (Barb) Thompson of St. Marys and Clint (Lynne) Thompson of Celina; a close companion and caregiver, Raymond Manson of Celina.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Stewart; her second husband, Richard Belden; Leonard Charles Thompson; a sister, Ruth Parson.

She was a graduate of St. Charles High School in Lee County, Va.

She worked as a cook at Behm’s Landing restaurant on Grand Lake St. Marys for many years.

Rites are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel), St. Marys. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery in Covington.

Visitation will be held after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
