Bernice Dexter, 95

Bernice Dexter, 95, of Celina, died at 10:34 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at the Gardens of Celina.

She was born on March 22, 1919, in Celina, the daughter of Howard and Ada (Brown) Behm.

She married Robert Lloyd Grimm in 1938, and he preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by her husband Clyde Dexter.

She is survived by her son, Stanley Grimm of Celina; daughter-in-law Christine Grimm of Celina; by three granddaughters, Renee Boehme of St. Paul, Minn.; Susan Haas of California, Md.; and Alicia Bruce of Celina and  by seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a grandson, Stanley Michael Grimm, sister Evelyn Holdridge, a son, Robert Grimm, a daughter-in-law, Laura Grimm.

Bernice was the proprietor of Behm’s Landing and Restaurant for 40 years on Grand Lake St. Marys.  

She was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church in St. Marys, Eastern Star, VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries, all in St. Marys.

She was a member of the Women of Moose and Women of Eagles.

Funeral rites will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High St., St. Marys, the Rev. Cory Bailey, officiant. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery in Celina.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to the Montezuma United Methodist Church.
