Area Women's College Basketball Players Begin Seasons

Erika Thornsberry - Lipscomb

Erika Thornsberry, a St. Marys grad and Lipscomb freshman, is getting playing time off the bench in her first season with the Bisons.

Thornsberry scored three points and corralled four rebounds for the Bisons against Alabama A&M last Saturday.

She also had three points and four rebounds against Austin Peay on Nov. 14.

The Bison are 0-5 on the season and take to the court again at Vanderbilt on Friday night.


LeAnn Topp - Wilmington

LeAnn Topp, a New Bremen grad and Wilmington junior, is averaging 4.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and two assists per game in the early-going for the Quakers.

Topp had one points, five rebounds and two assists in Wilmington’s 71-68 win over Eastern University on Saturday.

The Quakers are 3-0 on the season.


Delanie Wolf - Ashland

Delanie Wolf, a Minster grad and Ashland freshman, is averaging 3.3 points per game and a rebound per contest for the Eagles through three games this season.

Wolf had two points and a rebound in Ashland’s 80-63 win over Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday.

Wolf scored eight points against Indianapolis on Nov. 13 in the California (Pa.) Tournament.

Ashland is 2-1 on the season.

Taylor Elshoff - Brescia

Taylor Elshoff, a New Knoxville grad and Brescia freshman, is beginning her first season in the NAIA program in Kentucky.

Elshoff has scored nine points in two games played for the Bearcats.

Elshoff scored four points against Mid-Continent and five points against St. Mary of the Woods.


Stacy Timmerman - Capital

Stacy Timmerman, a New Bremen grad and Capital University junior, is averaging 10 points and four rebounds per game for the Crusaders so far this season.

Timmerman, a 5-10 junior forward, scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds for Capital on Tuesday night in a 49-38 win over Wittenberg.


Jo Steva -Edison

Jo Steva, a St. Marys grad and Edison freshman, is second on the team in scoring with a 13.6 point per game average throughfive games this season.

Steva had 14 points and six rebounds against OSU-Lima on Nov. 17. She added eight poings and three rebounds against Ancilla on Saturday.

Edison is 4-1 on the season.
