AREA ATHLETES: Women's basketball players past midway point in conference play
Stacy Timmerman, Capital
COLUMBUS — Stacy Timmerman, a Capital junior and New Bremen grad, scored 15 points and had five rebounds and an assist in the Crusaders’ 66-57 loss to Mount Union on Saturday. Capital slipped to 13-6, 8-4 in the OAC. Timmerman averages 9.6 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game.
Erika Thornsberry, Lipscomb
NASHVILLE – Erika Thornsberry, a Lipscomb freshman and St. Marys Memorial grad, grabbed three rebounds for the Bison in a 68-64 win over Jacksonville on Thursday, Jan. 26. Thornsberry had a point and three rebounds in Lipscomb’s loss to ETSU on Jan. 21. Thornsberry averages 4.3 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in the 19 games she’s played this season. She’s made two starts for the Bison. Lipscomb is 5-17 on the season and 3-8 in conference play. The Bison host Belmont on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
Delanie Wolf, Ashland
ASHLAND — Delanie Wolf, an Ashland freshman and Minster grad, pulled down two rebounds in 12 minutes off the bench in the Eagles’ 112-75 win over Wayne State on Thursday, Jan. 26. Ashland is 18-1 on the season. Wolf has played in 14 games and averages 3.4 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. Ashland travels to Ohio Dominican on Thursday night at 5:30 p.m.
LeAnn Topp, Wilmington
LeAnn Topp, a Wilmington junior and New Bremen grad, scored four points and had three rebounds and an assist in the Quakers’ 77-56 loss to Baldwin-Wallace on Saturday. Wilmington is 10-9 on the season and 5-7 in the OAC. Topp, a 5-8 guard, averages 5.7 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Wilmington hosts Marietta tonight at 7:30 p.m.
