Area Athletes: Thornsberry scores four against UNC Tar Heels

Erika Thornsberry - Lipscomb

NASHVILLE — Erika Thornsberry, a Lipscomb freshman and a St. Marys Memorial grad, scored four points and grabbed three rebounds for the Bison in a 95-53 loss to the 17th-ranked Tar Heels of North Carolina on Wednesday night.

Thornsberry has played in all 10 games, getting two starts. She averages 3.4 points and two rebounds per game.

Lipscomb is 2-8 on the season and hosts Ole Miss next Friday night.

Stacy Timmerman - Capital

COLUMBUS — Stacy Timmerman, a Capital junior and New Bremen grad, averages 7.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game for the Crusaders this season.

Timmerman scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds for the Crusaders on Saturday in a 71-39 win over John Carroll.

Capital improved to 5-2, 1-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Crusaders travel to Mount Union on Saturday for a 4 p.m. tip-off.


Delanie Wolf -Ashland

ASHLAND— Delanie Wolf, an Ashland freshman and Minster grad, is scoring 4.5 points and averaging two rebounds per game for the Eagles this season in six games played.

Ashland is 6-1 on the season with a 2-0 mark in conference play. Ashland hosts Lake Erie at 1 p.m. on Sunday.


LeAnn Topp - Wilmington

LeAnn Topp, a Wilmington junior and New Bremen grad, scored 10 points and collected six rebounds for the Quakers last Saturday in a 67-54 win over Heidelberg.

Topp averages five points and 5.2 rebounds per game for the Quakers, who are 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in the OAC. Wilmington hosts Baldwin Wallace on Saturday at 2 p.m.
