Alvin P. Luthman, 67, of 11741 Luthman Road, Minster, died at 7:42 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012, at his residence.

He was born on June 17, 1944, in Sidney, to Wilbert and Viola (Gariety) Luthman, and they preceded him in death. 

He is survived by his former wife, Karen (Watercutter) Simpkins; his children, Donna (Anthony) Bayer of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Annette Luthman of Warrensburg, Ill.; three grandchildren; six siblings; three in-laws.

He was preceded in death by five siblings; two brothers-in-law.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie, with the Rev. Dan Schmitmeyer officiating. Burial will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery in St. Patrick.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
