Aloysius C. Meyer, 83

Aloysius C. Meyer, 83, of Russia, died at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
He was born on Nov. 4, 1929, in Willowdell, to the late Frank and Frances (Homan) Meyer.
He married Dorothy L. Hoying on May 24, 1952, in St. Patrick. She preceded him in death on July 28, 1990.
He married Anna Spornhauer in Feb. 1991, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 27, 1997.
He is survived by four daughters, Joan and Tom Wyen, McCartyville, Teresa and Bill Gariety, Wapakoneta, Rita and Steve Rindler, North Star, Eileen and Jim Prenger, Minster; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters Frieda and Gene Guggenbiller, St. Henry, Carl and Linda Meyer, Versailles, Paul and Mary Jean Meyer, Versailles; sisters-in-law, Connie Meyer, Sidney and Alma Meyer, Fort Loramie and a special friend Jeanette Monnin.
He was preceded in death by brothers Louis and Dolores Meyer, Herman Meyer and Jerry Meyer.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Newport, and a member of the Choir and Choir Director for many years. He was a member of Minster F.O.E. #1391 and had his own wedding band called the Meyer Orchestra and was currently playing in the Moms and Dads Band playing for local nursing homes. He was a lifelong farmer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Rev. Steven Shoup, celebrant.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will take place in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
