Alice Louise Clayton, 55, mother, sister and soon- to-be grandma, passed away on Jan. 17, 2013, after a courageous 6-year battle with cancer.
She was born on Oct. 24, 1957, a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Gearing Scott.
She attended Moulton Elementary School and graduated from St. Marys High School in 1976 in St. Marys. She attended Lakeshore Technical College where she received her realtor’s license.
On Oct. 1, 1977, she married William Clayton, welcoming two loving sons, Jason and Christopher.
She was employed at Fischers Cheese in Ohio and transferred to Borden’s Foods in Plymouth in 1988. She also worked at Sargento Foods in Plymouth for several years and the last 7 years as a realtor for Shorewest Realtors in Sheboygan, Wis.
Alice loved to shop and be with her friends but most of all, loved spending as much precious time with her sons as she could.
She belonged to Elks Club Lodge 299 in Sheboygan and was a former Optimist Club member in Sheboygan.
Alice is survived by her two sons, Jason Clayton (Kaitlyn) of Neenah, Wis., and Christopher Clayton of Plymouth; eight brothers and sisters, Larry (Dee) Scott, Carol (Barney) Klosterman, Tom (Joyce) Scott, MaryAnn (Bob) Laughlin, Nancy (John) Nester, Sharon Burden, Allen (Anne) Scott and Lee (Sue) Scott, all of Ohio; her loving dear friends, Sue (Jerry) Toerpe of Sheboygan and Lois (John) Stranz of Plymouth.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law, Jerry Burden.
Following Alice’s wishes, cremation has taken place and Committal Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Glynwood.
Inurnment will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
A memorial fund is being established in her name for the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic in Sheboygan, Wis., or Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, Wis.
