Alfred A. Bustetter, 93

Alfred A. Bustetter, 93, of Wapakoneta, died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at The Gardens of Wapakoneta.  

He was born on July 27, 1920, in Auglaize County, the son of John and Frances (Fischer) Bustetter, who preceded him in death.  

On June 6, 1945, he married Loretta I. Seitz, and she died on Nov. 21, 2011.

Survivors include four children, Michael (Kathy) Bustetter of Charlotte, N.C.; David (Sara) Bustetter of Maineville; Patricia (Thomas) Davin of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.; Debra (Todd) Meier of Wapakoneta; 10 grandchildren, Molly (Michael) Hoffmann, Bradley (Kimberly) Davin, Bridget (James) Dwyer, Christopher Bustetter, Amanda (Jason) Alge, Abigail (Dane) Roush, Aimee Meier, Shannon, James, and Samuel Bustetter; 10 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Joan Seitz of Wapakoneta.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert, his twin brother and spouse, Albert and Evelyn Bustetter, two sisters and spouses, Verona and John Mosler, and Lucille and William Koenig, and an infant brother, Charles.

Alfred retired in 1980 after 39 years service with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in St. Marys. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. His other memberships included the K of C, Council 1272, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 691, both of Wapakoneta.  

He enjoyed woodworking and fishing, and in his younger years playing baseball. He especially enjoyed the Tuesday afternoon “break” with his brother and extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, the Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiating.  

Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wapakoneta.  

The family will receive friends 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, State Route 501, Wapakoneta.
