7 Arrested In Drug Probe

ST. MARYS — Five St. Marys residents were arrested as part of a recent investigation by the Grand Lake Drug Task Force.

Seven residents total were arrested as part of a six-month investigation by the task force. The suspects were arrested on Wednesday and have been indicted on drug charges ranging from the sale of marijuana to heroin.

Those arrested were:

• Adam Roberts, 23, of St. Marys, on three counts of trafficking in marijuana and one count of trafficking in heroin.

• Mitchell Newbauer, 20, of St. Marys, on two counts of trafficking in marijuana.

• Josh Cox, 30, of St. Marys, on five counts of trafficking in heroin.

• Julia Beckett, 24, of St. Marys, on two counts of trafficking in heroin.

• Codie Shirk, 22, of St. Marys, on three counts of trafficking in heroin.

• Justin Rogers, 29, of Wapakoneta, on three counts of trafficking in marijuana.

• Lonnie Spence, 22, of Celina, on one count of trafficking in heroin and one count of trafficking in marijuana.

Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon said more arrests could be coming in the future.

“All members of the Task Force are doing a fantastic job in the battle of the drug problem,” Solomon said in a news release. “Heroin continues to be a problem drug in this area.”
