WAYNESFIELD — Four people were arrested on Tuesday on a slew of drug-related charges.
In a news release, Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon said members of the Auglaize / Mercer County Grand Lake Drug Task Force, Waynesfield Police, Wapakoneta Police and sheriff’s deputies served three arrest warrants Tuesday morning at two locations in and around Waynesfield.
The arrests were a result of drug buys made inside the village of Waynesfield and the Waynesfield area during the past several months.
The drugs involved in the purchases included heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine and prescription drugs.
Three Waynesfield residents were arrested and transported to the Auglaize County Correctional Center Tuesday morning. One person still remains at large.
Those arrested are:
• Samuel M. Brown, 23, of Waynesfield, on three counts of trafficking — with one count each in cocaine, methamphetamine and prescription drugs.
• Shawn L. Robinson, 19, of Waynesfield, on three counts trafficking in drugs — two counts of cocaine and one of heroin.
• Justin M. James, 30, of Lima and formerly of Waynesfield, one two counts trafficking in drugs‚ with one count each of methamphetamine and cocaine.
A female was also arrested on Tuesday but not connected with the Waynesfield arrests. Kristie Gillette, 20, of Celina, was arrested on two counts of trafficking in heroin. She remains in custody at the Mercer County Correctional Facility. Gillette is being held on drug-related charges.
“The drug issues in this county stretch from the cities to the rural areas to the small villages and we will work all of it,” Solomon said in a news release.
Investigations continue into the illegal drug problems in this area. More arrests are expected in the future.
