10 Years Ago This Week – 2001

As the girls’ state cross-country meet unfolded at Scioto Downs in Central Ohio this weekend in 2001, the area was once again well-represented.

The Minster Wildcats notched their third straight cross country championship, as they were paced by Sunni Olding whose time of 18:34 was good for third place in Division III.  Other Wildcats contributing to the victory included Brittany Winner (18th), Jodi Wehrman (46th), Carrie Seaver (50th), Brooke Luttmer (53rd), Joanna Gruber (55th), and Jennifer Bornhorst (57th).

New Knoxville’s Kristy Wirwille became the first Ranger to ever advance to state, and she finished in 30th place overall.

St. Marys’ Stephanie Knous made her fourth straight appearance in state competition and placed 29th in the Division II race.
