1 Killed In Mercer Co. Crash

CELINA — An Indiana man died this morning following a collision with a semi in Mercer County.

According to a crash report, the Mercer County Sheriff's Office received multiple 911 calls at 6:08 a.m. today reporting a collision at Ohio 29 and Ohio 118. A 2011 Freightliner semi tractor and trailer was south bound on Ohio 118 and failed to stop for the stop sign. The semi was driven by Robert Riley, 54, of Fort Jennings.

A 2002 Hyundai was east bound on Ohio 29 and struck the semi trailer. The Hyundia was driven by Ronald Albers, 56, of Portland, Ind. Albers was pronounced dead at the scene.

After striking the semi trailer the Hyundai struck a 2007 Toyota truck that was stopped at the stop sign at Burkettsvile-St. Henry road. The 2007 Toyota was driven by Abraham Timmerman, 39, of Fort Recovery.

The crash remains under investigation.
