VAN WERT — The St. Marys football team celebrated as it ran off the muddy field at Eggerss Stadium, snow flying around in the whipping, cold wind like a snowglobe. They’d turned things around. They’d finished the season the right way.
The Roughriders pulled away from Van Wert for a 39-14 win to close out the season on a rainy turned snowy Halloween Friday night.
St. Marys exploded for 25 second-half points to finish off its bounceback season emphatically.

ST. HENRY 21, MINSTER 13: A big 65-yard pass completion from Mitch Stammen to Blake Hoying down the sideline gave the St. Henry Redskins the cushion they needed Friday night as they beat the Minster Wildcats 21-13, but it was the early play of the Redskins that put the Wildcats behind the eight ball. St. Henry scored two first-quarter touchdowns and then held off Minster's late charge for the 21-13 win. Minster quarterback Josh Nixon had a pair of one-yard touchdown runs. Nixon was 13-of-27 for 182 yards.
