FINDLAY — A pair of former New Knoxville Rangers went head-to-head in early season college basketball action when the University of Findlay faced Cedarville on Tuesday night.
Former Ranger and Findlay junior Brad Piehl and the Oilers emerged with a 90-84 win over Marcus Reineke and Cedarville.
Reineke went 5-for-5 from beyond the three-point arc and scored a team-high 17 points for the Yellow Jackets. Reineke, a freshman guard, came off the bench and went a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor.

Today, a look at the Elida Bulldogs, whose season will get a late start as all-Ohio basketball player and quarterback Reggie McAdams has the Bulldogs a game away from a state championship game.
WAPAKONETA -- Adam Bertke learned the hard way about letting an interception snowball 12 weeks ago.
Bertke threw three costly interceptions in the second half of the Flyers Week 1 13-7 overtime loss to Lima Shawnee. Marion Local head coach Tim Goodwin even pulled Bertke from that game.
WAPAKONETA -- Forced to abandon its usually-reliable running game against a Marion Local opponent that is no stranger to late November playoff football, the Minster Wildcats' postseason run came to an end in the Division VI regional title game for the second straight season.
Marion Local dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and used a touchdown on the final play of the first half as a springboard to a 28-0 win over Minster on Saturday night at Harmon Field in Wapakoneta.
