MINSTER — The St. Marys ACME baseball team stayed alive in the Auglaize County ACME sectional tournament with a 9-1 win over New Bremen on Tuesday, setting up another elimination game against Minster tonight at Hanover Street Park.
After dropping its first game of the tournament against Minster on Monday, St. Marys had better energy early in the gameon Tuesday. The Riders scored six times in the second inning to break the game open.
MINSTER — Wapakoneta remained the only team in the Auglaize County ACME sectional tournament without a loss and guaranteed itself a trip to the district tourney on Monday night at Hanover Street Park in Minster.
The Redskins broke a tie with a four-run bottom of the sixth inning and defeated Minster 8-4 in a second round game.
That came after Minster beat St. Marys 4-2 in the first game of the day that sets up an elimination game tonight for the Roughriders against New Bremen.
MINSTER – Brandon Miller tossed a complete game shutout and the Wapakoneta ACME baseball team put together enough key hits at the right time Sunday afternoon the top-seeded Redskins opened the 2012 Auglaize County ACME sectional tournament with a 5-0 victory over New Bremen to begin the double elimination tournament.
“Brandon Miller did a good job and only had to throw about 85 pitches,” Wapakoneta head coach Willie Sammetinger said. “After the first inning you could tell he was in command.”
COLDWATER — The St. Marys ACME baseball team got timely hits, as the Riders defeated the Coldwater Cavaliers 6-3 Friday evening at Veteran’s Field.
“This win was huge for the players tonight,” St. Marys head coach Alan Huber said. “One of the things I told the kids this is the level that we have to play at all the time. This is the level that we are capable of playing at. When we stay focused and we are doing the things that we need to do we can be at the level.”
