St. Marys girls basketball moves to 2-0 in the WBL

December 19, 2014

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — After a revitalizing start to the season under first-year head coach Nikki Miars, the St. Marys girls basketball program earned a 12-day rest over the holidays.

The Roughriders won their fourth straight game in 53-44 fashion at Shawnee on Thursday night to improve to 5-2 and 2-0 in the Western Buckeye League.

For a program that hadn’t won more than three games in a season since 2010-2011 and matched its best WBL win total in three seasons, its successful first seven-game stretch is rewarding to the Riders.
