NEW KNOXVILLE — It took an extra inning but the New Bremen Cardinals were able to outlast the New Knoxville Rangers in the opening MAC game for each team 3-2 in eight innings Tuesday in New Knoxville.

Minster didn’t miss that opportunity. Parkway missed a handful of them.
Devon Poeppelman went the distance on the mound, Ethan Wolf and Adam Niemeyer delivered a pair of RBI hits and Minster put things away late in a 7-1 win over Parkway on Tuesday at Hanover Street Park.

ST. MARYS — Kenton’s big southpaw Noah Furbush took a shutout into the seventh inning and struck out 10 St. Marys batters over his six-plus innings of work in Kenton’s 5-2 win on Monday night at K.C. Geiger Park.
Furbush gave way to Logan Nichols, who closed out the game after St. Marys finally pushed two runs across, but not before he had stymied the Roughriders’ bats for most of the game.
