December 18, 2013

NEW KNOXVILLE — One of the most decorated players in Midwest Athletic Conference girls basketball history added another accomplishment to her growing list.

Needing one more basket to reach 1,000 points for her career and time running out on the first half, New Knoxville senior Haley Horstman juked at the top of the key to create an abundance of space, sliced into the lane and canned a 10-foot runner to reach the millenium mark in New Knoxville’s 76-25 win over Spencerville.

Shawnee's 18-0 run sinks Roughriders, Triplett earns first WBL win

December 14, 2013

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — First-year Shawnee boys basketball head coach Mark Triplett said his first win in the Western Buckeye League over St. Marys was special all on its own.

Getting a 62-49 win over his alma mater just made it a little sweeter.

“We’re trying to build our tradition here at Shawnee back up to where it has been in the past,” said Triplett, a 2006 Memorial High School grad. “All league wins mean something, but there’s a little something for it to come against the Roughriders.”
