“I just told the guys in the locker room that I’ve been doing this awhile and I’ve beaten some good teams in the tournament and I’d like to do it again,” Hegemier said. “But you can’t be indecisive, you have to be confident, you have to play hard and you have to play together.”

NEW KNOXVILLE 47, FORT RECOVERY 32

COLDWATER — When shots aren’t falling, the New Knoxville girls basketball team has a pretty good safety net in a defense that shuts down opponents and a player like Haley Horstman who can create quality shots off the dribble.

Far from an offensive masterpiece, the Rangers team again showed they’re more than capable of winning a low-scoring affair to capture a Division IV sectional title with a 47-32 win over Fort Recovery on Saturday night.
