Lester F. Dicke, 95, of 14040 Mercer-Auglaize County Line Road, St. Marys, died at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the St. Marys Living Center.
He was born Oct. 13, 1917, in Mercer County, the son of Florince and Anna (Moeller) Dicke, Sr.
He married Eileen Hollman on Dec. 27, 1941, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 25, 2002.
Gustave C. Link, 82, died on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Dayton Heart and Vascular Hospital in Dayton.
He was born on Aug. 21, 1930, to the late August Link and Anna Lennartz.
On Feb. 7, 1959, he married Betty (White) Link in Greenville, who survives.
He is survived by two daughters, Robin Link of Coldwater and Marna (Jeff) Arling of Minster; a son, Scott (Lori) Link of Fort Recovery; six grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jessica, Barbara and Gustave Link and Alicia and Genoa Arling; one great-grandchild; a sister-in-law, Anne Link of Sidney.
NEW BREMEN — Mike Heuker and his high school engineering students addressed the New Bremen Board of Education Wednesday night to talk about new programs and equipment that is supporting the student projects.
“Thanks for investing in the program with the 3-D printer,” Heuker said.
The printer is allowing students to design anything that falls within a 5-by-5-by-5 foot area. The printer produces the item out of plastic.
“It starts with basically nothing, just a platform,” Heuker said.

Richard Rubel, 63, of St. Marys, died on Monday May 6, 2013, at Golden Living Center Valley in St. Marys.
Arrangements are being completed with Miller Funeral Homes in St. Marys.

Dorothy Lynn Dorsett, 54, of Wapakoneta, died at 1:49 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at her residence.
She was born on Oct. 23, 1958, in Lima, the daughter of Robert E. and Betty L. (Vondenhuevel) Hague, who survive in Wapakoneta.
Other survivors include a sister, Carol (Rich) Dorsett, Wapakoneta; a former husband, Harold Dorsett II; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Hague and a brother, Donald Hague.
Gale R. Compton, 86, of Van Wert, died at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born on Oct. 7, 1926, in Haviland, to parents Roscoe Compton and Ethel Irene (Reid), both of whom preceded him in death.
He married Vernabel Louise (Murphy) on Feb. 4, 2008, and she survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Sherer of Van Wert; two sons, Randall (Patrice) Compton of St. Marys and Ronald (Eve) Compton of St. Marys; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Marjorie L. Borden, 94, of 532 Southway Drive in St. Marys, died at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born on June 24, 1918, in Piqua, to Kenneth and Edith (Cliff) Magill. She was raised by her paternal grandparents Fred and Ella (Smith) Magill.
On June 1, 1946, she married Robert R. Borden, who died on Aug. 29, 1990.
ST. MARYS — After the failure of Tuesday’s attempt to pass a levy that would bring the St. Marys City School District much needed funding, board members convened to discuss the effects of the cuts that will now be instituted as a result during Wednesday night’s regular meeting.
The audience was filled with more students than normally attend board meetings, and a lot of them addressed the board.
St. Marys Memorial High School recently had 16 juniors and seniors named to the 2012-2013 Western Buckeye League’s All-Academic list.
Juniors must maintain a 3.75 grade point average through five semesters and earn at least two varsity letters in WBL-recognized sports. Seniors must maintain a 3.75 GPA through seven semesters and earn at least three varsity letters in WBL recognized sports.
St. Marys seniors honored were Cole Brooks, Emily Brown, Katlyn Brown, Kevin Dammeyer, Nick Durkee, Kelly Heitkamp, Colleen Magee, Neil Perry and Logan Simons.
