Archie Dupont, 72, of 904 Hager St., St. Marys, died on Sunday, July 17, 2011, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in  St. Marys.
Arrangements are being completed with the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West), St. Marys.

Floyd T. “Tom” Vorhees, 62

Floyd T. “Tom” Vorhees, 62, died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Lima Memorial Health System.

He was born on Jan. 26, 1949, in Lima, to Paul F. and Betty L. Maloney Vorhees, and they preceded him in death.

On July 17, 1965, he married Sandra L. McCandless, who survives him in St. Marys.

Neal Robert Heyman, 48

July 19, 2011

Neal Robert Heyman, 48, of Fenton, Mich., died on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at his residence, following a nine year battle with cancer.

Neal was born on Oct. 27, 1962, in Mequon, Wis., the son of Robert and Elnamae (Roeseler) Heyman, and his mother survives him. His father preceded him in death.

On Oct. 21, 2000, he married Lori Kittel, formerly of New Bremen, and she survives him.

BOE OKs Fees

NEW KNOXVILLE — School fees for the 2011-12 school year at New Knoxville Local Schools will remain similar to last school year, as the New Knoxville Board of Education approved the school fees for the upcoming school year at their meeting Tuesday evening.

Superintendent Kim Waterman noted that there will only be an increase in fees for two subjects, while a few fees were reduced.

ST. MARYS — State officials Monday afternoon released details of yet another partnership aimed at helping in the battle to heal Grand Lake St. Marys.

Ohio EPA Director Scott Nally introduced a venture with Yellow Springs Incorporated that would provide real time data for Grand Lake St. Marys. The data will be available online at LiveLakeData.com.

Grades K-3 Campers at New Bremen

Cardinal Youth Basketball Camp was held on July 11-13. Seventy-one campers attended the event from grades K-8th.
The camp was run by the New Bremen High School boys basketball staff and varsity players.
 

Minster ACME heads to state

ST. HENRY — There’s no better example of just how experienced and tourney-tested the Minster ACME baseball team is this summer as when the Wildcats used a pair of pitchers who started the state semifinal and state championship games this spring to finish off the Coldwater Cavaliers in the district championship on Friday night.

Few summer baseball teams have this sort of arsenal on the mound.

Village Hosts Open House

NEW BREMEN — The New Bremen Electrical Department was open to the public to view Sunday afternoon, boasting several new features including a loading dock, more storage and heat.

The 12,000 square foot building was completed last winter at a cost of $771,000, approximately $250,000 under budget. Village Administrator Wayne York said there were several factors that went into choosing to build the new facility during the recession.

Robert W. “Bob” Croft, 86, of Indian River, Mich., formerly of Spencerville, died at 2:40 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2011, a the Cheboygan Hospice Center in Cheboygan, Mich.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
