CELINA — Four adults and one juvenile were arrested Wednesday as a result of drug investigations in Mercer County.
In a news release issued Friday, Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said deputies and members of the Grand Lake Drug Task Force acted on information regarding the sale of heroin at the intersection of U.S. 127 and U.S. 33. Law enforcement officials observed the transaction and once it was completed, the suspect vehicle was stopped. The driver of the vehicle, Tosha N. Reed, 22, 306 E. High St., Mendon, was arrested for trafficking in heroin.
ST. MARYS — A local development official says he plans to start marketing a downtown storefront once the tenant moves out in the coming weeks.
Anna Louise Koch, 101, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Wapakoneta, died on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at her residence.
Friends may call from 4p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Schlosser Funeral Home and Cremation Services 615 N. Dixie Hwy., Wapakoneta, where arrangements are incomplete.
Elmer H. Will, 88, of 15 N. Jefferson St., New Bremen, died at 5:39 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at the St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on Jan. 4, 1923, in Carthagena. He was the son of Ferd D. and Ida F. (Kaup) Will.
Charles L. Steinke, 81, of West Cisco Road, Sidney, passed away of natural causes on Friday morning, Sept. 30, 2011, at Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney.
He was born on April 1, 1930, in Burkettsville, to the late Isadore and Bertha (Tumbusch) Steinke.
On Oct. 27, 1951, at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Chickasaw, Charles married Armella (Bills) Steinke who survives.

Fort Recovery at Minster
MINSTER — The Minster Wildcats got back in the win column last week and they look to make another midseason run as they play host to the Fort Recovery Indians Friday night.
Minster (3-2, 1-2 MAC) used a strong defensive effort to turn away the New Bremen Cardinals 27-7. The Wildcats picked off three passes and used a strong ground attack to earn their first league win of the year.

KALIDA — St. Marys freshman Carter Bowman advanced to the district tournament by firing a 76 for the Roughriders at Country Acres on Thursday.
The Riders finished fifth as a team with 350 strokes.
Along with Bowman’s 76, St. Marys’ Will Paulus shot an 88, Austin Riggs shot a 91, Alex Dammeyer had a 95 and Colin Burke shot a 100.
Elsworth J. “Red” Emans, 89, of Celina, died at 12:46 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
He was born on Aug. 12, 1922, in Mendon, to Austin Oliver and Mae Zillah (Rhoades) Emans, and they preceded him in death.
On Aug. 19, 1944, he married Doris I. Winter, and she preceded him in death on March 27, 2004.
Douglas E. Weaver, 57, of 15784 Koenig Road, St. Marys, died on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at University Hospital in Cincinnati.
He was born on May 28, 1954, in Coldwater, to Elmer and Mary Jane (Monnier) Weaver, and they survive him in Minster.
On Jan. 13, 1979, in St. Marys, he married Donna Jean Wogaman, and she survives.
