Ruth L. (Wollam) Casanova, 84, of Douglassville, Pa., formerly of Norton, died on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
She was born in Hood River, Ore., to Harry and Gail (Hamilton) Wollam, and they preceded her in death.
She married Albert J. Casanova, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by a sister; her loving family.
She was preceded in death by one son.
Private family services will be held. Burial will follow in Hamilton Bethel Cemetery in Union Township near Mendon.
Abigail Juliana Wells, infant, died on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Ill., because of complications incurred during her birth.
She was born to Leighton and Mandi Wells, and her mother preceded her in death. Her father survives her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.
Mrs. Amanda Weigandt Wells, 31, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, surrounded by her family at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, Ill., because of complications incurred during the birth of her daughter, Abigail Juliana (AJ).
Mandi was born on Feb. 7, 1980, in Minster, to Richard and Juliana Weigandt, and they survive her in Minster.
On Sept. 15, 2007, in Syracuse, Ind., she married Leighton Wells, and he survives her.
NEW BREMEN — An area business group moved ahead with the next step in bringing a new business to its town.
Members of the New Bremen Community Improvement Corporation went ahead with the next step in the Brookside Laboratories project during their meeting Tuesday evening.
MINSTER — On Tuesday, Minster residents will head to the polls to decide the fate of a number of issues.
One of these issues will be the renewal of a five-year Permanent Improvement Levy for Minster Local Schools.
“We have records that show that this levy has been in place since before 1976,” Minster Local Schools Superintendent Brenda Boeke said in a recent address to the Minster Service Club. “So for 35 years we’ve had a commitment by this community to support the levy. We appreciate that greatly.”
Billie Shelton, 73, of Lima, died at 6:10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at his residence.
He was born on May 27, 1938, in Jackson, Ky., to Bud and Mary Combs Shelton, and they preceded him in death.
On April 7, 2003, he married Hester Robinson, and she survives him in Lima.
Anne Prueter, 86, of 1315 Kimberly Drive, St. Marys, and a longtime resident of Perrysburg, died at 9:46 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at the Gardens of Celina.
She was born on April 4, 1925, in Waynesfield, to P. L. and Addie (Coolidge) Pepple, and they preceded her in death.
On March 23, 1947, she married Albert “Tiny” Prueter, and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2005.
Ned Temple, 76, of Celina, died at 10:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1935, in Rockford, to Lowell and Helen (Cook) Temple, and they preceded him in death.
On Dec. 29, 1956, he married Janice A. Kolp, and she survives him.
He is also survived by two sons, Tom (Shelly) Temple of Vandalia and Scott Temple of Dayton; two daughters, Valerie (Chris) Anspaugh of Plain City and Sheila (Jim) Hawkins Jr. of Celina; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
