Robert Charles Martin Tittle, 63, of 632 Grove St., Celina, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at his residence.
He was born on Aug. 9, 1948, to Robert A. and Evelyn Lucretia (Franks) Tittle, and his father preceded him in death. His mother survives in Edgewood, Ky.
He is also survived by his fiance, Charity Shaffer of Celina; two sons, Robert Tittle of Celina and David (Tina) Tittle of Elsmere, Ky.; a stepdaughter, Tina Wiseman of Newport, Ky.; three grandchildren; four brothers; three sisters.
NEW BREMEN — The New Bremen Board of Education met Wednesday evening to hear a presentation from Freytag and Associates about building site options for the new elementary building.
Larry Ludlow, of Freytag and Associates, presented the board with three options for the location of the new building, each connected to the high school.
ST. MARYS — While visits to state parks sagged this year, one local park saw a boom of campers.
The number of camping nights sold at Grand Lake St. Marys increased by 9.4 percent from 2010 figures. The increase followed a 41.6 percent decrease from 2009 to 2010, which coincided with the outbreak of toxic algal blooms at the lake.
ST. MARYS — The county’s dog warden says he has seen a spike in pit bull related incidents in recent weeks.
“Pit bulls are an issue countywide,” Auglaize County Dog Warden Russ Bailey said. “Here in St. Marys, we are starting to see more. There have been several calls dealing with pit bulls.”
NEW BREMEN — An area village proceeded with the next step in the process to bring a new business to town during a meeting of its council Tuesday evening.
During their meeting, members of the New Bremen Village Council approved, as an emergency resolution, an application from Brookside Laboratories to enter into a Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) Agreement with the Village of New Bremen.
Economic Development Director Angela Hamberg noted Brookside had visited area communities interested in a CRA and had settled on New Bremen.

Girls Soccer: St. Marys 4, Fort Jennings 1
The Roughriders tuned up for Thursday’s WBL showdown against Shawnee with a 4-1 win over 10-win Fort Jennings on Monday.
Fort Jennings had been a thorn in the side of the Roughriders the past few seasons, and Paul Dingledine saw the Musketeers as a good final non-league challenge.
ST. MARYS — A city councilor Monday night said he believes some dog owners in St. Marys are being irresponsible with their pets.
Bill Slemmons, the 2nd Ward Councilor for the city of St. Marys, said he has noticed more pit bulls and rottweilers running at-large. Slemmons said a resident outside his house was cornered by three dogs.
“The patrolman came down,” Slemmons said. “There’s a lot of (dogs) running around.”

The St. Marys volleyball team opens its postseason against Defiance on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. at Lima Senior High School and the winner of that match will play the winner of the Bath-Wapakoneta match (7:15 p.m. on Wednesday) on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7:15 p.m.
The top of the bracket at Lima Senior will match up Celina and Shawnee at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, followed by Elida vs. Van Wert at 7:15 p.m. The winners of those two matches play on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m.
M. Marjorie Martin, 86, of 14256 River Road, St. Marys, died at 12:05 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born on Dec. 11, 1924, in St. Marys, to Merrill “Bill” and Ruth (Smith) Miller, and they preceded her in death.
