WAPAKONETA — Law enforcement officials are searching the eastern portion of the county for burglary suspects.
In a news release, Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon said deputies and detectives from the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office are currently searching the Buckland area for suspects in a burglary that occurred early this morning.
At approximately 3:03 a.m. today, a passerby noticed someone in the Trupointe business located at 101 Main Street in Buckland and called the sheriff’s office.
Helen Marie Vantilburg, 86, of Celina, died on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
She was born on Oct. 14, 1925, in Hopewell Township, to Lawrence Schaadt and Esther Viereck, and they preceded her in death.
On Nov. 14, 1944, she married Harold Vantilburg, and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2009.
She is survived by two sons, James (Brenda) Vantilburg of Celina and Mark (Anna) Vantilburg of Crestwood, Ky.; a daughter, Janet (Gary) Morrison of Celina; a sister-in-law; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Russell W. Louth, 77, of Spencerville, died at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born on March 20, 1934, in Spencerville, to Donald and Chloe (McCullough) Louth, and they preceded him in death, along with his stepmother, Myrtle (Vandemark) Louth.
On April 30, 1955, he married Judy A. Harbison, and she survives.
He is also survived by three children, Jennifer (Tim) Barnes of St. Marys, Amy (Daniel) Miller of Fremont and David (Linda) Louth of Lafayette; eight grandchildren; a brother.
ST. MARYS — After two hours of discussion and listening to a presentation, members of a local school board agreed to move forward with a scheduling change at the high and middle school levels during a special meeting Wednesday evening.
Members of the St. Marys Board of Education met Wednesday evening to discuss the switch from a traditional schedule to a trimester schedule — with the deciding factor being the fact that students would receive more instructional time in a trimester schedule versus the traditional schedule the upper-level schools currently use.
CELINA — Local officials charged with helping lead the effort to heal Grand Lake St. Marys released their goals for 2012.
“Our main goal for 2012 is very simple — an advisory-free lake,” Grand Lake St. Marys Restoration Commission Facilitator Tom Knapke told a crowd gathered for the commission’s progress summit on Wednesday. “That means you put your toes in the water — that’s very important. We’ve made great progress last year, but that’s our goal for this year.”

Norbert W. Watercutter, 92, of 8130 Wells Road, McCartyville, died on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Minster.
He was born on May 1, 1919, to Henry and Elizabeth (Otting) Watercutter, and they preceded him in death.
On May 3, 1947, in McCartyville, he married Frances M. Esser, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 31, 2007.
William E. Masonbrink, 78, of Celina, died on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at Mercer Health in Coldwater.
He was born on July 29, 1933, in Kilgore, Texas, to Herbert Masonbrink and Lola Buckley, and they preceded him in death.
On Oct. 28, 1955, he married Ramona Wolfe, and she survives him.
He is also survived by a son, Steve (Linda) Masonbrink of Dublin; two daughters, Vicki Masonbrink of Westerville and Theresa Markovich of Wauseon; a brother; a family friend; two sisters; two grandchildren.
