Victor McKinney, 63, of St. Marys, died on Monday, March 5, 2012, at Golden Living Center – Valley.
Arrangements are being completed with the Miller – Long & Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys.

Althea S. Ruedebusch, 90

Althea S. Ruedebusch, 90, of Wapakoneta, died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at The Gardens, Wapakoneta.  

She was born on April 13, 1921, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of Eugene and Lillia (Weifenbach) Slattery, and they preceded her in death.  

On Sept. 6, 1952, she married Norman F. Ruedebusch, and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1999.

Linda Lou (Minnich) Luke, 62

Linda Lou (Minnich) Luke, 62, of Cridersville, died at 12:47 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

She was born on June 8, 1949, in Celina, to Robert E. and Mary Ellen Wallace Minnich, and they preceded her in death.

On Nov. 10, 1973, she married Robert Dean Luke, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 2001.

She is survived by a brother, Robert (Carla) Minnich; three nephews, Austin J. Minnich, Mitchell R. Minnich and Spencer W. Minnich, all of New Bremen.

Minster Machine Sold

MINSTER — A Japanese firm plans to acquire a long-standing Auglaize County manufacturing firm.

In a news release, company officials confirmed The Minster Machine Company is being purchased by Nidec-Shimpo, a division of Nidec Corporation. Nidec, with its headquarters in Kyoto, Japan, is a global technology corporation that had annual gross sales of $9 billion last year.

Elton “Buck” Thobe, 84, of Maria Stein, died on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Heritage Manor in Minster.

He was born on Nov. 7, 1927, in Maria Stein, to Henry and Matilda (Heitkamp) Thobe, and they preceded him in death.

On May 10, 1952, in St. Rose, he married Norma Hartings, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 1989.

Group To Watch Lake Levels

CELINA — A newly formed committee will be working on a pilot project starting this week to help manage Grand Lake St. Marys.

Grand Lake St. Marys Restoration Commission Manager Milt Miller said at the Lake Improvement Association’s meeting Saturday morning the committee will begin work this week to manage the lake’s water levels.

BOWLING: Rider girls get to elite eight, bow out to Coldwater

COLUMBUS — The St. Marys girls bowling team qualified to the OHSAA state elite eight  before Coldwater pulled off three straight Baker Games to rally past the Roughriders on Saturday afternoon.

St. Marys, which won the state championship a season ago, won the first two Baker games against the Cavaliers to take a commanding 2-0 lead with scores of 165-154 and 192-171.

But Coldwater won the next three games to oust the Riders, 222-164, 242-196 and 236-135.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: New Knoxville wins district title

ST. MARYS —  For the first time since 2007, the New Knoxville girls basketball team is headed to the regional tournament.

The Rangers captured a Division IV district championship with a 52-45 win over Upper Scioto Valley on Saturday night at St. Marys Memorial High School.

New Knoxville (21-3) will play at regional next Thursday at 6:15 p.m. at Tipp City Tippecanoe High School against the winner of Saturday night's game between Dayton Miami Valley and New Madison Tri-Village.
