Mark Andrew Miller, 65

March 20, 2012

Mark Andrew Miller, 65, of 3278 Slavik Road, Coldwater, died at 6:04 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2012, at the Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.

He was born on May 19, 1946, in Celina, to William John and Olivia Ann (Schoen) Miller, and they preceded him in death.

On July 7, 1979, he married Marcia K. Knapp, and she survives in Coldwater.

He is also survived by his son, Brad (Nicole) Miller of Columbus; a daughter, Marisa (Todd) Marquis of Fort Worth, Texas; three brothers; three sisters; two sisters-in-law.

Alexander John Fellows, 91

Alexander John Fellows, 91, of Sebring, Fla., passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012, in Tampa, Fla.

He was born on Feb. 16, 1921, to Edward Fellows and Rachel Beetcroft of Melbourne, Australia.

In 1946, he married Theresia Doseck, and she survives him.

He is also survived by four children and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter in 1963 and a son in 2011.

Kathleen Y. Gossard, 64

March 19, 2012

Kathleen Y. Gossard, 64, of 1025 Edwards St., St. Marys, died suddenly at 8:35 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, in the emergency department of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.

She was born on Aug. 30, 1947, in Celina, the daughter of Norbert and Betty Lou (Schroer) Steineman, and they preceded her in death.

On June 8, 1968, she married David Gossard, and he survives at the residence.

Virgil C. Behr, 63

Virgil C. Behr, 63, of 333 Concord Ave., St. Marys, died at 9:55 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at his residence.

He was born on July 14, 1948, in Sidney, to Wilbur and Rita (Greve) Behr, and his mother preceded him in death. His father and stepmother, Bea, survive him in Fryburg.

On April 15, 1978, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Cranberry Prairie, he married Patricia A. Dorsten, and she survives.

Carol J. Selhorst, 84

Carol J. Selhorst, 84, of 522 Western Ave., St. Henry, died at 11:35 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Gardens at St. Henry.

She was born on July 19, 1927, in North Star, to Leo Stammen and Zita (Grilliot), and they preceded her in death.

On Sept. 10, 1949, in North Star, she married Bernard Selhorst, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 2002.

Deborah Lee Kimball, 63

Deborah Lee Kimball, 63, of 1201 Fairground Road, Celina, died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at her residence in Celina.

She was born on Jan. 24, 1949, in Cleveland, to Edward N. and Elisabeth Freda (Haydl) VanKorngut, and they preceded her in death.

On April 4, 1970, she married Duane E. Kimball, and he survives in Celina.

She is also survived by her daughters, Beth (Keary) Siegrist of Celina and Tricia (Chris) Johnson of Pittsburgh, Pa.; five grandchildren; a brother.

Alma Anna (Feil) Camper, 103

Alma Anna (Feil) Camper, 103, of Wapakoneta, died at 7:45 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at The Gardens, Wapakoneta.

She was born on April 9, 1908, in Auglaize County, to William and Anna (Aufderhaar) Feil, and they preceded her in death.   

On Dec. 26, 1926, she married Floyd (Sam) Camper, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1986.  

She is survived by two sons, Robert F. (Joann) and William J.; two daughters, Sharon A. Campbell and Susan K. (Richard) Feil; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

Plungers Hit Water

ST. MARYS — Despite a rain delay, local high school students and a handful of adults jumped into a pond to raise money for cancer research.

On Sunday afternoon, 42 students and nine celebrity plungers leaped or ran into what was optimistically estimated to be 65-degree weather, as part of the seventh-annual Memorial High School Relay for Life Polar Plunge.

Schedule Being Ironed Out

ST. MARYS — With a local school switching its scheduling system, administrators are taking steps to implement the change for the 2012-13 school year.

St. Marys Memorial High School will be on the trimester system next school year, and school administrators are currently working on the scheduling aspect of the new system.

“We will have five academic periods, which are 63-minutes long,” Memorial High School Principal Dave Lewis said. “We will still have a four-minute passing time.”
