Ruth G. Howell, 88, of St. Marys, formerly of Wapakoneta, died at 2:47 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Otterbein St. Marys. Arrangements are incomplete at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Ohio 501, Wapakoneta.
Dr. Robert Lee Westerheide, 78, of Mount Vernon, died suddenly but peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at his home in Mount Vernon.
He was born on June 21, 1934, in Minster, to Henry A. and Mildred (Froning) Westerheide, and they preceded him in death.
On June 25, 1960, he married his wife of 52 years, Loretta (Severt), and she survives him.
ST. MARYS — A St. Marys woman was pulled from the St. Marys River Thursday afternoon by several local law enforcement officials.
At approximately 1:40 p.m. Thursday, a 911 call was placed reporting a woman was floating in the St. Marys River, between South and Spring streets. Several local law enforcement officials jumped into the river to help pull the woman to the bank of the river near the city administration office.

This week in 1962, the St. Marys Roughriders concluded their high school football campaign with a 28-20 loss to the Wapakoneta Redskins.

ST. MARYS — Two Auglaize County residents are among a group from the Northwest Ohio Region of the American Red Cross who are traveling to New Jersey to help out in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
Richard and Colleen Bekemeier, of Wapakoneta, Jean Schroeder, of Ottawa, and Rodney Knauss, of Van Wert, were deployed on Wednesday to Ocean, N.J., to help out with relief efforts in the wake of Sandy’s devastation earlier this week. Much of the region remains without power and towns, homes and businesses have been leveled because of the storm.
Terry L. Carmean, 64, of 790 Coventry Green, St. Marys, died on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at his residence, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on Sept. 2, 1948, in Celina, the son of LG and Evelyn (Koenig) Carmean, and they preceded him in death.
In 1979, he married Deb Heil, and she survives at the residence.
Terry Carmean, 64, of St. Marys, died on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at his residence. Arrangements are being completed with the Miller Funeral Homes in St. Marys.
Mark A. Whited, 65, of Anna, died at 11:37 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney.
He was born on July 9, 1947, in St. Marys, to Charles F. Whited Sr. and Mary Ellen Schwarck, and his mother preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son, Matthew Whited of Anna; a daughter, Marty Whited of Celina; a brother; a sister-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Allen Whited; a brother.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Paul Joseph Rockwood, 55, of St. Marys, died at 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born on Jan. 14, 1957, in Celina, to Paul F. and Dolores Mae (Johnson) Rockwood, and they preceded him in death.
