ST. MARYS — The St. Marys boys basketball team showed again on Friday night it can win a low-scoring game. Meanwhile New Knoxville was left trying to figure out a way to put together a full game after an anemic second half allowed a lead to slip away for the second straight contest.
The Roughriders rallied from a six-point halftime deficit and held an opponent under 45 points for the second straight game in a 51-41 victory over the Rangers at Memorial High School.
NEW KNOXVILLE — Last year, the village of New Knoxville utilized the village’s largest Street Improvement program in 20 years to repair nine area streets, all thanks to a public works grant through the Ohio Public Works Commission.
This year, Village of New Knoxville officials do not anticipate receiving any grant dollars from the state, but plan to focus their efforts on two significant projects. The first project will help a local business, New Knoxville Telephone, Inc. (NK Telco), expand into two village owned buildings adjacent to NK Telco’s main plant.

ST. MARYS — St. Marys sophomore Derek Jay hit two free throws with 7.8 seconds left to lift the Roughrider boys basketball team over Troy 46-45 on Tuesday night.
St. Marys trailed by seven points early in the fourth quarter, rallied to take a five-point lead in the game’s final minute behind some clutch shooting by Josh Young and then watched as Troy stormed back to take a one point lead.
