ST. MARYS — From the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office — the state parks will have Edgewater closed between the Ohio 703 and Ohio 364 area and Watercrest until this evening for tree maintenance.
ST. MARYS — State investigators will be on the scene today to try and determine the cause of a fire that burned a home on Marsh Drive to the ground.
At approximately 10:45 p.m. Monday, a call went out to the St. Marys Township Fire Department reporting a fully involved structure fire at 337 Marsh Drive in St. Marys. St. Marys Township Fire Chief Chad Hicks said a sheriff’s deputy was the first on the scene and confirmed the eyewitness report.
St. Marys, Celina and New Knoxville Fire Departments were called to the scene for mutual aid.

NEW BREMEN — Division IV’s eighth-ranked Flyers built a 22-point lead while swatting a dozen New Bremen shot attempts and then staved off a spirited Cardinal rally in the fourth quarter to earn a 67-58 win in Midwest Athletic Conference play. New Bremen senior Manger scored a game-high 24 points
Marion Local's Luke Knapke had a double-double with 16 points double-digit rebounds. Ryan Bruns added 13 points and Cole Griesdorn had 12 points.

St. Marys' Shania Taylor finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds but left with an injury. Carly Buzzard had 12 points for Wapakoenta.
FORT RECOVERY 53, NEW KNOXVILLE 40
The loss drops New Knoxville from atop the MAC standings with one game to go. Three players for Fort Recovery scored in double figures. Siefring led the Indians with 14 points and Jocelyn Kaiser and Grace Thien each scored 11 points. Meg Reineke led New Knoxville with 12 points and Kenzie Schroer had 10 points.
MINSTER — Minster girls basketball coach Nann Stechschulte the 500-win milestone on Thursday night in Minster’s 54-42 victory over Coldwater.
Stechschulte improved her coaching mark to 500-239. She is 416-186 in 26 seasons at Minster. She went 84-53 with a state appearance at Oak Hills High School before taking the job at Minster.
Stechschulte is just one of 19 girls basketball coaches in Ohio to reach the 500-win plateau.
Feb. 14: Anti-Valentine’s Day at the St. Marys Community Public Library will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. Adults are invited to a party — the ultimate Anti-Valentine’s Day Party. All patrons will enjoy fines free all day.
ST. MARYS — Members of the St. Marys School Board of Education voted to get the cost of changing the names of two of the district’s schools Wednesday night.
Board President Brian Little proposed the move, suggesting the board change the name of the primary school to East Primary and the intermediate school to West Intermediate.
“No one calls them ‘Primary’ or ‘Intermediate,’” Little said. “They say, ‘Which one is that, east or west?’ It’s what they are, not who they are.”
