ST. MARYS — The Parkway Panthers team came from behind Saturday afternoon to defeat the Fort Recovery Indians 23-25, 25-18 and 25-20 to win the St. Marys Roughrider Volleyball Invitational.
The host Roughriders finished fifth in the six team invitational. They defeated the Old Fort Stockaders 25-13 and 25-19. In the third place match Allen East defeated Spencerville in three sets 25-22, 12-25 and 25-19.
Kenton head coach Mike Mauk ditched the headset early in the second half.
Junior quarterback Grant Sherman was laughing along the sidelines with his teammates when the third quarter started.
Kenton did all the necessary work in the first half.
Sherman threw for 360 yards and seven touchdowns in the first two quarters of Kenton’s 56-7 win over St. Marys at Skip Baughman Stadium on Friday.

MINSTER — The Minster Wildcats went into Friday’s game wanting to let its skill players shine against Sidney Lehman Catholic at the newly-renovated Minster Memorial Field.
It turned into an air show for the Wildcats in their 46-7 win.
“Our game plan was to kind of give the kids on the outside to show what they can do and they did that,” Minster coach Nate Moore said. “The kids executed the plays that the coaches called. Our receivers caught the ball well and Adam had a nice game throwing the ball and running.”
NEW BREMEN — The New Bremen Cardinals made strides toward a possible win Friday night, but four lost fumbles cost the Cardinals against Fort Loramie.
Ft. Loramie cashed in on every one and defeated the Cardinals 34-21 in the first home game of the season at New Bremen.

ST. MARYS 4, KENTON 0: St. Marys led just 1-0 at half of its Western Buckeye League opener against Kenton, but the Riders scored three times in the second half to emerge with a 4-0 win on Thursday.
“We’ve got a target about this big,” St. Marys head coach Dave Ring said while making a big space with his arms. “We’re still getting used to everybody going after us and not giving us a pass.”
St. Marys is 2-0, 1-0 in the WBL.
ST. MARYS 3, KENTON 0: The St. Marys volleyball team opened Western Buckeye League play with a 25-19, 25-13, 25-16, win at Kenton on Thursday night. The Roughriders improved to 1-4 on the season and 1-0 in the WBL.
ST. HENRY 183, NEW KNOXVILLE 196: New Knoxville’s Tyler Shreve shot a school-record 36 in the Rangers’ 183-196 loss to St. Henry on Thursday at Arrowhead. Connor Samuel and Jake Allen added 53s for New KNoxville. Brian Kremer shot a 44 as low man for St. Henry. Alex Evers adde a 45 and Just Mescher and Troy Potkotter each had 47s. The Rangers are now 3-3 overall and 2-3 in the MAC.
