ST. HENRY — The St. Marys baseball team had one chance to get to St. Henry’s strong pitching staff in the top of the first inning. After that, the Redskin staff teamed up to shut down the Roughrider bats.
St. Henry had three pitchers combine on a four-hit shutout in a 3-0 win over St. Marys on Thursday night at the Wally Post Athletic Complex.
St. Marys loaded the bases with no one out in the first inning, but Ryan Mikesell got out of the jam unscathed. He pitched four scoreless innings before turning it over to the bullpen.
April 4th
ST. MARYS — Parkway put its full arsenal on display that has the Panthers hoping to be in the thick of the Midwest Athletic Conference title chase again in 2013.
Parkway got four hits and four runs batted in from Kylie Snyder while pitcher Sierra Fent tossed four no-hit innings with eight strikeouts in an 11-0 win over St. Marys at K.C. Geiger Park on Tuesday.
Snyder singled four times in five innings for Parkway. Rachel King doubled and Taylor Walls had a triple. Zoey Pond was 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Kayla Walls scored three runs.
ST. MARYS — The St. Marys baseball team couldn’t take advantage of its two-out bases-loaded situation early in the game. Lima Central Catholic turned that exact scenario a half inning later into what turned out to be the game-deciding rally.
The complexion of the St. Marys-Lima Central Catholic game on Tuesday — a game LCC won 8-4 — changed drastically over the short span of an inning.
April 2nd
SIDNEY — The St. Marys boys tennis team fell in its season-opening match to Sidney Lehman Catholic 4-1 on Monday night.
St. Marys picked up its one win at second singles from Jason Freewalt, who downed Sam Dean 6-4, 5-7, 6-2.
The Cavaliers took the other four matches. Lehman Catholic’s Pierce Bennett defeated St. Marys’ Cole Brooks at first singles, 6-1, 6-0. At third singles, Lehman’s Josh West defeated St. Marys’ Nick Rohr, 6-4, 6-4.
April 1st
VERSAILLES — Minster girls track coach Jessie Magoto didn’t know how her team would look after a preseason training period filled with cold temperatures, snow and more time indoors than outdoors heading into Saturday’s opening event at the Lady Tiger Classique.
