NEW KNOXVILLE 47, FORT RECOVERY 32
COLDWATER — When shots aren’t falling, the New Knoxville girls basketball team has a pretty good safety net in a defense that shuts down opponents and a player like Haley Horstman who can create quality shots off the dribble.
Far from an offensive masterpiece, the Rangers team again showed they’re more than capable of winning a low-scoring affair to capture a Division IV sectional title with a 47-32 win over Fort Recovery on Saturday night.
LIMA — The St. Marys girls bowling team finished as the district runner-up and will compete at the OHSAA state bowling championships this weekend in Columbus while senior Kristen Dammeyer was the top bowler with a 608 series.
St. Marys finished second with a final team score of 3,529 pins. Coldwater won the district title with a score of 3.680. Napoleon (3,433) and Port Clinton (3,391) also advance to state.
