ST. MARYS — A week after hitting six 3-pointers against Perry, St. Marys senior Austin James had a record-tying Saturday night from outside against Parkway.
James tied the school record with seven 3-pointers, Garet Fledderjohann added 20 points and the Roughriders won for the first time at home this season in a 72-53 romp over Parkway on Saturday night.
James’ seven treys ties Tom Burke’s seven 3-pointers against Sidney Lehman in 2005 for the Memorial High School single-game record. James finished with a game-high 21 points.
ST. MARYS — Coldwater built a 14-point halftime lead and then held off St. Marys’ second-half run to post a 46-37 road win on Saturday at Memorial High School.
Coldwater won its 10th game of the season and won its fourth straight.
The Cavaliers appeared to be sailing towards that victory until St. Marys turned to full-court pressure in the second half and whittled the Cavalier lead down to 31-26 by scoring the first nine points of the second half. Coldwater committed five turnovers in the first three minutes of the third quarter.
CELINA — Celina’s defensive pressure took its toll midway through the second half, as a physically and mentally fatigued St. Marys squad turned the ball over and watched the Bulldogs turn the miscues into points.
Celina wore down the Roughriders and pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 71-52 win at a packed Celina Fieldhouse on Friday night. It’s the seventh straight win for Celina over St. Marys, a winning streak that dates back to 2005.
