One of Craig Krenzel's three most memorable games as a Buckeye quarterback came against Purdue. That part is no surprise.
That it wasn't the Holy Buckeye game from 2002 might be.
Dominic Guarnieri was involved in the University of Findlay golf program for about half of former head coach Al Baker’s 21 seasons at the university.
Guarnieri’s rise to the Director of Golf position at Findlay makes perfect sense, but the St. Marys Memorial grad doesn’t take the opportunity for granted.
“To have your dream job at 30 years old, that’s something amazing,” Guarnieri said.
MINSTER — Zach Wilker worked out of a bases loaded jam in the top of the first inning, tip-toed out of another tight spot in the second inning and then never looked back.
Wilker tossed a five-hit shutout and St. Marys needed just three hits in a 1-0 win over Fort Loramie on Friday night in loser’s bracket game in the district ACME tournament at Hanover Street Park.
In the second game, Minster stayed unbeaten in district play with a 6-1 win over the Anna Rockets. Minster advances to play on Sunday.
MINSTER — Pitching ruled the day on the first day of the district ACME tournament on Thursday.
Minster starting pitcher Brandon Hoying’s seven shutout innings led Minster to a 6-0 win in the second game over Fort Loramie. In the opening game at Hanover Street Park, Anna’s Cal Zimpfer kept St. Marys off the scoreboard in a 6-0 opening game win.
Minster moves on to play Anna on Friday at 8:15 p.m. St. Marys takes on Fort Loramie on Friday at 6 p.m. Both games are at Minster.

MINSTER — After losing their opening game in the double-elimination Auglaize County ACME sectional tournament on Monday, the St. Marys ACME baseball team ran the table.
St. Marys slugged its way to the Auglaize County ACME sectional title by sweeping the Minster Wildcats in a pair of games on Friday night. The 10-1 and 15-4 wins for the Roughriders in the two championship round games finish off four straight wins over the past three days.
