Division III, Region 10
If the season ended today, Celina and Wapakoneta would both be in the playoffs in Division III's Region 10. Celina is in fourth place in the region with a 4-0 record and 7.7 point average. Wapakoneta is in the sixth position with its 3-1 record and a 6.0 point average. The top eight teams make the playoffs.
ST. MARYS — Matt Dine made sure St. Marys wouldn’t be scoreless this time out. He kept adding on until it was almost a record-setting night.
Dine scored St. Marys’ first four goals in the Roughriders 7-0 win over Defiance on Tuesday.
Dine’s four goals were one shy of the school record set by Tyler Hirschfeld, who had five goals in a 2000 game. Those goals were Hirschfeld’s only five goals of his varsity career.
NEW BREMEN 3, SHAWNEE 0
With aggressive and hard play the New Bremen Cardinals bounced back against New Knoxville to defeat the Shawnee Indians 25-17, 26-14 and 25-12 on Tuesday.
“We emphasized in practice yesterday that we have to stay aggressive and stay after the ball no matter who we play,” Cardinals head coach Theresa Jenkins said. “After Thursday’s game against New Knoxville we decided that we needed to refocus and we started to get back after the ball.”
