CELINA — The St. Marys girls track team finished fourth and the Roughrider boys were fifth at the Celina Invitational on Saturday afternoon, while Celina swept the boys (140 points) and girls (191 points) titles in the six-team, All-WBL team event.
“Both teams did a great job, especially since we have had limited time on the track due to weather,” St. Marys head coach Kathy Sites said. “We have a long way to go, but this is an excellent starting place and good things are going to happen with these teams.”
DAYTON — The Minster baseball team won at a professional ballpark, something that’s becoming a habit for the decorated group.
The Wildcats, who have gone 4-0 the last two years at Huntington Park in Columbus en route to back-to-back Division IV state championships, jumped out to a six-run lead in the first three innings and cruised to a 9-2 win over St. Marys at Fifth Third Field in Dayton on a sunny, mild Saturday afternoon.
