ST. MARYS — An NBA All-Star Weekend 3-point shooting contest it was not, but the Bath boys basketball team left St. Marys Memorial High School still tied for the Western Buckeye League lead.
The 19-point win was anything but routine, though. Bizarre is a more fitting description.
The Wildcats sewed up a 56-37 win over the Roughriders early in the second half with another showcase of energy on defense and on the offensive glass that makes Bath a league title contender this winter.
Area boys basketball teams were in action on Friday night:

MARIA STEIN — The New Knoxville boys basketball team rallied in the fourth quarter and controlled the overtime to earn a 56-49 win over Marion Local on Friday night at The Hangar.
The Rangers’ first Midwest Athletic Conference win of the season came with a big night from beyond the 3-point arc. The Rangers hit 11 three-pointers and went 11-of-22 from long distance — including 7-of-11 in the second half.
