ELIDA — Elida sophomore quarterback Clark Etzler threw three touchdown passes to Brandon Stinson and the Bulldogs took a 20-3 lead over St. Marys before lightning postponed the game until Saturday.
The game will resume with 1:21 left in the second quarter on Saturday. Elida had just scored on an Etzler to Stinson 13-yard touchdown pass and missed the extra point kick when lightning struck.

ST. MARYS — Elida escaped from a three point deficit at match point in a deciding fifth game and rallied to beat St. Marys 25-15, 23-25, 25-20, 16-25, 18-16, on Thursday night at Memorial High School’s Murotech Court.
A young St. Marys volleyball team still lacks experience closing out a match, head coach Tricia Rosenbeck said after the loss. St. Marys had a pair of attacking errors that helped Elida rally.
