Minster (3-2, 1-2 MAC) at Anna (3-2, 1-2 MAC)
Coming off their second loss in a row, the Minster Wildcats look to get back in the left side of the win-loss column as they travel to Anna to take on the Rockets Friday night.
St. Marys at Defiance
Both St. Marys (0-5, 0-4 WBL) and Defiance (1-4, 1-3 WBL) open the second half of the season looking to salvage campaigns that started off roughly in the first five games.
Defiance is 1-4, with its lone win coming against Bath in Week 2. The Bulldogs’ defense is the biggest culprit for the struggles. Defiance is giving up a league-worst 43.6 points per game and 495 yards of offense per game. Defiance gives up 7.9 yards per carry and have surrendered 18 rushing touchdowns.
OTTAWA — St. Marys sophomore Carter Bowman shot a 79 at the Division II sectional at Country Acres to advance to the district tournament on a rainy Thursday.
Van Wert won the sectional title with a 325 team score. The other district qualifiers were Napoleon (321) and Bryan (335). The St. Marys Roughriders finished fifth and shot a 348 as a team. Along with Bowman’s 79, Cobain Applegate shot an 83, Colin Burke shot an 84, Kyle Kiefer had a 92 and Matt Severt shot a 100.
