CELINA — The heated St. Marys-Celina girls soccer rivalry produced a winner for the first time since 2009.
Taylor Guingrich’s early long strike held up the rest of the game, giving Celina a 1-0 win over St. Marys on Thursday night after the two rivals played to 1-1 ties in both 2011 and 2010.

NEW KNOXVILLE — It took some doing for the New Knoxville Ranger volleyball team to stay undefeated in the MAC, but they did it. The Rangers trailed New Bremen 2-0, but came back to defeat he Cardinals 14-25, 22-25, 26-24, 25-8 and 15-8 in a MAC contest played at New Knoxville.
VOLLEYBALL
ST. MARYS 3, BATH 0: The St. Marys volleyball team defeated Bath in three games, 25-16, 27-25, 25-18, on Thursday at Memorial High School. Reagan Aller led the Roughriders with eight kills. Erika Angstmann had 11 digs. Rachel Meier had 14 assists for St. Marys. St. Marys improved to 4-8 and 2-1 in the Western Buckeye League.
