The Western Buckeye League named its 2011-2012 WBL Academic All-League award winners late last week for student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom.
St. Marys had 17 students earn the honor.
Juniors must carry a 3.75 grade point average and earned at least two varsity letters.
St. Marys juniors Emily Brown, Kevin Dammeyer, Nick Durkee, Mitch Fowler, Kelly Heitkamp, Colleen Magee, Neil Perry and Logan Simons were named to the list.
Seniors must carry a 3.75 GPA with at least three varsity letters in WBL sports.
NEW BREMEN — Late afternoon storms postponed the Division IV sectional softball final between New Bremen and St. Henry scheduled for Monday.
The Cardinals and Redskins will play tonight at 5 p.m. at New Bremen. The winner advances to the district tournament at Wapakoneta on Tuesday, May 15 against the winner of Ada and Hardin Northern.
St. Henry won the regular season match-up 10-0 on April 19.
Minster will play in district action at Wapak on Wednesday, May 16 at 5 p.m. against the wnner of today’s Lima Perry-Ridgemont game.
