May 19, 2012

Minster won its second straight district title with a 4-3 win over Crestview that — in typical Wildcat style this season — came down to a pulsepounding finish in the seventh inning.

“To be able to do this two years in a row, that’s something special,” Minster head coach Mike Wiss said.

WAPAKONETA — The Minster softball team could start celebrating — and breathe a big sign of relief — when  pitcher Kayla Richards got Michelle Bruns to fly out to left field giving the Wildcats their first-ever Division IV district softball championship at Wapakoneta on Friday.

Minster used a five-run fifth inning and took advantage of five St. Henry errors to defeat the Redskins 7-5.
