ST. MARYS — Defiance scored eight times in the third inning and starting pitcher Anthony Kidston retired the final 12 St. Marys batters in Defiance’s 14-1 win at K.C. Geiger Park on Tuesday.
“Defiance is a strong team and you have to play your A game if you want to beat someone the quality of Defiance,” St. Marys head coach Dave Huber said.
St. Marys fell to 13-6 and 5-2 in the Western Buckeye League.

DEFIANCE — St. Marys fell to 4-10, 2-5 in the WBL with a 11-9 loss at Defiance on Tuesday. St. Marys hosts Coldwater on Thursday night.
MINSTER 13, SPENCERVILLE 3
SPENCERVILLE — The Minster softball team collected 16 hits and run-ruled Spencerville in five innings on Tuesday.
Regan Hahn went 4-for-4 with four runs batted in. Alexis Robinson was 3-for-4. Jayden Hahn drove in three runs for the Wildcats.
CELINA — The St. Marys boys and girls track teams turned in a 19 top-four individual finishes in a tri-meet at Celina on Tuesday night.
The St. Marys boys team finished third with 24 points. Celina won with 83 points and Shawnee collected 67 points. Grand Lake Christian School earned one point.
The St. Marys girls team finished third with 17 points. Celina won with 117 points, and Shawnee had 41 points.
