If New Knoxville wants to earn its first road win of the season, slowing down one of the Western Buckeye League’s best scorers will be one of the biggest keys.
New Knoxville will be charged with defending Wapakoneta’s Travis Bertram, who has had a breakout season. Bertram averages 17.8 points per game. Bertram scored 25 points against Celina with five three-pointers.
Parkway High School will honor three former athletes and administrators in a Hall of Fame ceremony at the Saturday, Feb. 11 home boys basketball game against Lima Perry.
Jon Sidenbender is a 1953 Rockford High School grad who was the first commissioner of the Midwest Athletic Conference. He served as commissioner for 24 years from 1973 to 1997. Sidenbender was instrumental in adding girls sports to the MAC. He was the head basketball coach at Parkway from 1964 to 1967.
Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship this Saturday: The St Marys Knights of Columbus Council 1592 will sponser the local level of the 2012 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship on Saturday, January 21 at 4:30 p.m. at Murotech Court in Memorial High School.
The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship is sponsored annually with winners progressing through local, district,region and state competions .
