St. Marys took advantage of its first chance at turnabout this summer.
The St. Marys ACME baseball team scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to rally for a 7-6 win over Coldwater on Tuesday night, turning the tables on the lone team to top the Roughriders this June.
Nick Vogel brought home the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh to give the Riders a walk-off victory.

Finally America gets what it has been pining for: a movie about baseball statistics.
Heh.
“Moneyball”, Michael Lewis’ sports book that to people under 35 is a seminal reading the same way “Ball Four” by Jim Bouton or
“The Boys of Summer” by Roger Kahn were to previous baseball-loving generations, comes to big screen in late September — just as baseball will be winding down its regular season and in time for Joe Buck to sneer at it on a Fox baseball broadcast.

ST. MARYS – It was total domination Friday evening for the St. Marys ACME baseball team against previously unbeaten Wapakoneta.
St. Marys got the runs going in the third inning and defeated Wapakoneta 10-0 in five innings at K.C. Geiger Park.
“This season we have been very successful in executing in situations,” St. Marys head coach Alan Huber said. “Sometimes it has been with a hit, sometimes by making the pitcher work or by getting a couple bunts down and forcing some errors.”

NEW BREMEN — The Minster ACME baseball team batted around in the sixth inning and broke open a 2-2 game with four runs and a 6-2 victory over the New Bremen ACME Thursday at New Bremen.
It was the first victory for Minster in the ACME season.
“I thought we hit the ball pretty well tonight and I’m pleased with how the players came to the plate with a good approach ,” Minster coach Alex Brandewie said.
New weight room equipment was installed at Memorial High School on June 8 and the early feedback from the students has been positive.
“Kids can be pretty tough on equipment so we made sure we got heavy-duty stuff that will hold up,” St. Marys Athletic Director Joe Bline said.
The Equipment Guys, a company out of Urbancrest, Ohio, supplied the equipment.
The cost of the weight room equipment was originally $60,000, but the three lowest bids for the equipment all came in over $10,000 below that estimate in March.
