NEW BREMEN — Rob Messick resigned as head varsity football coach at New Bremen, the school’s board of education announced at its meeting on Thursday night.
Gary Jones, New Bremen athletic director, said on Thursday morning that Messick resigned "a couple weeks after the season."
Messick coached the Cardinals for five seasons, compiling a 12-38 record. His Cardinal teams went 8-31 in Midwest Athletic Conference play.
New Bremen finished the season 0-10, 0-8 in the Midwest Athletic Conference this season.
Erika Thornsberry - Lipscomb
NASHVILLE — Erika Thornsberry, a Lipscomb freshman and a St. Marys Memorial grad, scored four points and grabbed three rebounds for the Bison in a 95-53 loss to the 17th-ranked Tar Heels of North Carolina on Wednesday night.
Thornsberry has played in all 10 games, getting two starts. She averages 3.4 points and two rebounds per game.
Lipscomb is 2-8 on the season and hosts Ole Miss next Friday night.
