NEW BREMEN — The New Bremen Cardinals put together a winning 10-deep effort against the St. Marys Roughriders.
New Bremen put nine players in the scorebook and went on a 9-0 spurt late in the third quarter to take control of a 65-58 win against St. Marys.
SPENCERVILLE — Derek Goecke’s short jump shot with three seconds left in double overtime proved to be the game winner, as the Bearcats defeated the Minster Wildcats, 55-53, on Friday night.
“We went late to our ball screen action,” Spencerville head coach Kevin Sensabaugh said. “It worked for us because they had trouble defending the ball screen late and we felt we had a little advantage. We asked Eli (Bowers) where he wanted to catch the ball and him and Derek (Goecke) had a two-man game on the weak side and they executed and scored.”
