Howard L. Henschen, 90

Howard L. Henschen, 90, of 206 E. German St., New Knoxville, died at 12:55 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013, at the St. Marys Living Center.

He was born on Nov. 12, 1922, in Shelby County, the son of Ferdinand and Lydia (Feldwisch) Henschen.

He married Glenna Jean Walls on April 22, 1944, and she survives at the St. Marys Living Center.

The Rev. Glenn Masser, 82

The Rev. Glenn Masser, 82, of Venedocia, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013, at Celina Manor.

He was born on Nov. 3, 1930, to Leslie A. and Lillian M. (Whipp) Masser in Frederick County, Md.

He married Mary Grams Masser on June 14, 1953, and she survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Robert E. (Peggy) Masser of Montrose, Mich. and Dr. Philip R. (Kelly) Masser of Celina; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Madlyn Bilter, 85

Madlyn Bilter, 85, of Celina, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Gardens at Celina.

She was born on March 24, 1928, in Toledo, to Ralph and Hazel Birt.

On June 26, 1949, she married Donald Charles Bilter, who passed away on May 26, 1995.

She is survived by four children, Denny (Faith) Bilter of Marriottsville, Md.; Brenda (Tom) Lange of St. Henry, Debra (Mike) Williams of Rockford and Shelly (Mark) Shaw of Celina; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister.

Carrol T. “Fisch” Fischbach, 81

Carrol T. “Fisch” Fischbach, 81, of St. Marys, died at 7:49 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.  

He was born on Nov. 14, 1931, near Kettlersville.

He was one of 10 children born to Elmer and LaRue (Dodds) Fischbach. His sister Shirley (Laverne) Pax survives in Pickerington, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Robert L. Kohler, 94

Robert L. Kohler, 94, a resident at Otterbein-St. Marys and formerly of Celina, Amherst and Spencerville, died at 4:46 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Grand Lake Hospice in the Joint Township Hospital in St. Marys.

He was born on Dec. 7, 1918, in St. Marys, a son of Andrew and Maude M. Caldwell Kohler, both of whom preceded him in death.

On Oct. 23, 1937, he married Vonda D. "Vonnie" Seibert, who preceded him in death on March 13, 2006.

Patricia D. Yahl, 67

Patricia D. Yahl, 67, of 117 S. Wayne St. in St. Marys, died at 10:25 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

Pat was born on July 15, 1945, in Allen County, to Mitch and Ruth (Rupert) Dyer.

On Oct. 17, 1964, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys, she married Robert Yahl, who survives.

Melvin G. Vallo, 94

April 15, 2013

Melvin G. Vallo, 94, formerly of 2nd Street, Minster, passed away at 9:42 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

He was born on April 24, 1918, to Arthur and Margaret (Knostman) Vallo, both of whom preceded him in death.

On May 18, 1946, he married Florence Thieman in Minster, and she resides at Dorothy Love Retirement Center in Sidney, where they have been residents the past three years.

Eric C. Johnson, 50

Eric C. Johnson, 50, of 06761 Auglaize County Road 33-A in St. Marys, died at 8:45 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health System.

He was born on July 14, 1962, in Bar Harbor, Maine, to William F. and Joyce E. (Van Schoyck) Johnson.

Survivors include daughter Alena Johnson of Wapakoneta; parents William and Joyce Johnson  of St. Marys; two brothers; a sister; former wife Jenniffer Furr of Wapakoneta; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother.
